What does God and Christ look like?

THE FIRST BOOK OF MOSES CALLED
GENESIS
CHAPTER 1
God creates this earth and its heaven and all forms of life in six days—Creative acts of each day set forth—God creates man, both male and female, in his own image—Man given dominion over all things, and commanded to multiply and fill the earth.

26 ¶ And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the dearth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
29 ¶ And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to everything that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very agood. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

(OUR IMAGE HIS OWN IMAGE, HE HAS A LIKENESS, US, OUR, PLURAL MORE THAN ONE! WHOM WAS HE TALKING TO? JESUS THE SAVIOR HE CREATED MAN AND WOMEN IN HIS IMAGE!!! HE HAS A FORM!)

ROMANS
CHAPTER 8
Law of Christ brings life and peace—Those adopted as sons of God become joint-heirs with Christ—God’s elect are foreordained to eternal life—Christ makes intercession for man.
1 THERE is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
(GOD SENDING HIS OWN SON, NOT HIMSELF, 2 DIFFERENT BEINGS)
SEE BELOW!

34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

(AT THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD! GOD HAS A RIGHT HAND! HE HAS A BODY AND HAS FORM!)

THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO
ST JOHN
CHAPTER 17
Jesus offers the great intercessory prayer—He is glorified by gaining eternal life—He prays for his apostles and all the saints—How the Father and Son are one.
1 THESE words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy aSon, that thy Son also may glorify thee:
2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.
3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
4 I have aglorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.
5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

COLOSSIANS
CHAPTER 1
Redemption comes through Christ—He created all things, is in the image of God, and is the Firstborn of the Father.
1 PAUL, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timotheus our brother,
2 To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,

( TWO SEPARATE BEINGS THE FATHER AND THE SON.)

4 Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints,
5 For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;

CHAPTER 5
Ministers must be called of God as was Aaron—Christ was a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek—Jesus Christ is the author of eternal salvation.
1 FOR every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins:
2 Who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity.
3 And by reason hereof he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins.
4 And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron.
5 So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.
6 As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest bfor ever after the order of Melchisedec.
7 Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;
8 Though he were a Son, yet alearned he bobedience by the things which he csuffered;
9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
10 Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.

(God said Christ is his son!)

(What church claims to have the Melchisedec Priesthood and why? LDS)

THE ACTS OF THE APOSTLES
CHAPTER 7
Stephen recounts the history of Israel and names Moses as a prototype of Christ—He testifies of the apostasy in Israel—He sees Jesus on the right hand of God—Stephen’s testimony is rejected and he is stoned to death.
55 But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus estanding on the fright hand of God,

56 And said, Behold, I see the heavens bopened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.

(God has a right hand! He saw the Image of God! Go figure it’s true!!!! Pray about it!! You will find out for yourself!)

THE FIRST EPISTLE GENERAL OF
JOHN
CHAPTER 2
Christ is our Advocate with the Father—We know God by obedience—Love not the world—Antichrists shall come in the last days.
1 MY little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

(Jesus Christ is the advocate not the Father!)

THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO
ST MATTHEW
CHAPTER 3
John the Baptist preaches in Judaea—Jesus is baptized and the Father acclaims him as his Beloved Son.
16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a ddove, and lighting upon him:
17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

(God the Father is please with his Son!! Not god is please with himself!)
THE GENERAL EPISTLE OF
JUDE
CHAPTER 1
Contend for the faith—Some angels kept not their first estate—Michael disputed about the body of Moses—Enoch prophesied of Second Coming—Mockers shall come in the last days.
6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

(Pre existence before we were born. Our first estate,)

THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO
ST JOHN
CHAPTER 1
Christ is the Word of God—He created all things and was made flesh—John baptizes Jesus and testifies he is the Lamb of God—John, Andrew, Simon, Philip, and Nathanael believe in Christ and follow him.
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his dglory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

29 ¶ The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
34 And I saw, and are record that this is the Son of God.
49 Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.

51 And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.

THE BOOK OF THE PROPHET
JEREMIAH
CHAPTER 1
Jeremiah foreordained to be a prophet unto the nations—He is called, as a mortal, to declare the word of the Lord.
1 THE words of Jeremiah the son of Hilkiah, of the priests that were in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin:
2 To whom the word of the LORD came in the days of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign.
3 It came also in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, unto the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah the son of Josiah king of Judah, unto the carrying away of Jerusalem captive in the fifth month.
4 Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
5 Before I aformed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

(Before he was formed in the belly the Lord knew him in the pre-existance.)

Joesph Smith when only 14 years old and no agenda in relating to his first vision expirience gave the best definition:
JOSEPH SMITH—HISTORY
EXTRACTS FROM THE HISTORY OF JOSEPH SMITH, THE PROPHET
History of the Church, Vol. 1, Chapters 1-5
17 It no sooner appeared than I found myself delivered from the enemy which held me bound. When the light rested upon me I bsaw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other—This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him

How can I know if it is true?

“I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.”

This is not a decision that is made with just your head. I knew that God told me that Mormonism was true. I had asked God and He told me. I knew it in my heart. I felt that it was true.

Prayer has to be more than just repetition; it should be an actual, real conversation with God. If you ask God questions, He will confirm what is true.

First read the Book of Mormon. As you ask, ask with a sincere desire to know if it is true. With a belief that Heavenly Father will answer your prayer.
He loves you and wants to answer your questions. Therefore, He will help you recognize the truth as you sincerely seek it and ask Him for guidance. You can know if the things you are learning are true. When you ask your Heavenly Father in prayer. He desires for you to know the truth, and you can receive an answer from Him through the Holy Ghost. As taught in the Bible, “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, [and] temperance” (Galatians 5:22–23). These feelings from the Holy Ghost are personal revelation to you that the restored gospel of Jesus Christ is true. You will then need to choose whether you will live in harmony with the knowledge you have received.

As the Savior taught in the Bible, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you ( Matthew 7:7). Feelings from the Holy Ghost are personal revelation to you that confirm the truth of the Book of Mormon and the gospel of Jesus Christ as restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith.

The last prophet of the Book of Mormon, a man named Moroni, gave this remarkable promise to anyone who wants to know whether the Book of Mormon is true: “And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost” ( Moroni 10:4).

You can discover for yourself that what you’ve been learning is true by:

•Sincerely praying to your Heavenly Father and asking Him if what you are learning is true.
•Continuing to study and give thoughtful consideration to what you are learning.
•Listening with your heart for the Holy Ghost to whisper the truth to you.
•Following God’s commandments so you can feel the influence of the Holy Ghost.

Book of MormonA volume of scripture included in the standard works of the Church. The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ is a collection of writings and teachings of the ancient prophets and followers of Jesus Christ who lived in the Americas from approximately 590 B.C. to 421 A.D. The Prophet Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon by divine inspiration from gold plates that he received from the angel Moroni. Books in the Book of Mormon are named after the prophets who kept the records, such as Nephi, Mosiah, Alma, and Mormon. A reference from the Book of Mormon may look like this: Alma 37:35-37.

Moroni is a Book of Mormon prophet who was the son of Mormon. He received the record of his people from his father, and after writing a final message he buried the gold plates in a hill until they could be brought forth and translated. He appeared as a resurrected being to Joseph Smith and gave him the gold plates for translation, as well as instruction pertaining to the Restoration of the gospel. A statue of Moroni, with a trumpet to his lips, appears on almost all temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He has come to symbolize the proclaiming of the gospel of Jesus Christ in latter-days to every creature.

Bible is one of the volumes of scripture included in the standard works of the Church. The Holy Bible is divided into two main books: the Old Testament, which contains a history of God’s people before the birth of Jesus Christ, and the New Testament, which is a record of the life and teachings of Jesus Christ and His disciples. Each of these books is broken up into smaller books, which are divided into chapters and verses. .

Gospel is the “good news” of God’s plan for the salvation of mankind. At the center of His plan is the Atoning sacrifice of His son Jesus Christ, in whom alone salvation is possible. In its fulness, the gospel includes all of the commandments, principles, ordinances, and covenants whereby human beings can be forgiven of sin, overcome the world, and attain immortality and eternal life in the kingdom of God.

Missionaries are members of the Church who are called to preach the gospel to the people of the world.

The Holy Ghost is also called the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God, and the Comforter. He witnesses, or testifies of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and reveals and teaches the truth.

When you pray, Your Heavenly Father is the source of all truth. He loves you and wants to answer your questions, therefore, He will help you recognize the truth as you sincerely seek it and ask Him for guidance.
A simple prayer should follow four basic steps:
1. Address God as “Father in Heaven” or “Heavenly Father”
2. Thank Him for the things for which you are grateful for
3. Ask Him for what you need Jesus is the Mediator ( 1 John 2:1; 1 Timothy 2:5) between us and Heavenly Father
4. close your prayer by saying, “In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
